Essel Infraprojects is setting up a desalination plant in Jodiya in Jamnagar in Gujarat. The company has signed an agreement with Gujarat Water Infrastructure Ltd to develop the project which entails an investment of ₹ 7,000 million. The project may go operational by 2021 and has a capacity to process 100 million litres per day of sea water. The plant will use reverse osmosis technology from Spain – Abengoa for the project. The plant is being constructed on public-private partnership basis.
