Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd is planning to expand its chemical unit in Dahej in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project involves expanding soda ash production capacity from 785 MTPD to 1200 MTPD and also installation of a captive coal based power generation power plant of 65 MW. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 8250 million.
As of December 2018, the project is in planning stage and it is likely to be commissioned in 36 months from zero date.
