Emami Paper Mills is planning to set up a greenfield packaging board plant in Saykha Industrial Area in Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project entails an investment of ₹ 20,000 million. The project involves setting up of multi layer coated packaging board plant with a manufacturing capacity of 4,50,000 tonnes per annum. The company had acquired 103 acres at the Saykha Industrial Area.
The new project will come up in two phases – having a capacity of 2,25,000 tpa in phase I with a 18 MW captive power plant and the second phase will also have similar capacity and 18 MW power plant. The first phase is expected to be operational in 2020.
As of October 2018, the project has received all environmental clearances and is set to implement the project with an investment of ₹ 10,000 million for phase I.
