Sarhad Dairy to expand its milk processing facility

Kutch District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd (Sarhad Dairy) is planning to set up a fruit processing plant in Chandrani village in Anjar taluka Gujarat. The cooperative is planning to invest over ₹ 500 million for extracting juices, preparing frozen and dehydrated fruit products.

Currently, the co-operative owns the land for the project. However, it is also considering to set up the plant in Mundra – a port zone for easy exports. The Centre has allotted Rs 24 crore for the milk processing plant under its Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana and the GCMMF is to give Rs 20 crore grant towards loan interest subvention. The co-operative is also expanding its dairy processing capacity at Chandrani village.
